Bill Fulton Game Designer, Microsoft
Bill Fulton is a game designer on the recently-completed Shadowrun* and was responsible for the online matchmaking system and the social aspects of play. One of his primary goals for Shadowrun was to minimize the griefing that plagues online FPS games.
Before moving to game design on Shadowrun, Bill started and led the User-research program for Microsoft Game Studios from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, he completed four years in the graduate program in Social Psychology at the University Washington, studying how behavior is influenced by the structure of social situations.
* Shadowrun is the upcoming flagship title for Microsoft’s LIVE Anywhere initiative, which allows cross-platform play between Xbox 360s and PCs.
